����������� The 2003 School
will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at the Lake Wylie Public Library, Lake
Wylie, SC., beginning at 8:00 a.m. with a continental breakfast followed by the
educational program and the required test for CR candidates.
��������� Faculty
for this CR School are District Director, Blake Robinson, with a warm welcome;
Frances Ballentine on the CR Program and Mission; Bill Patterson of Roses
Unlimited on Soil and Water; Drs. Gary Rankin and Monica Valentovic on Garden
Chemicals, Safety, and IPM; and the combined faculty on Diagnosing Pests and
Diseases in the Garden.
��������� CR
Candidates will take the open book test beginning at 3:15. When all are
finished, the tests will be graded and new CRs certified! The School should end
by 5 p.m.
��������� The
cost of the school is $20.00 per person and includes a continental breakfast,
lunch, and school materials; $25.00 if an ARS Certificate is requested. Checks
should be made payable to the Carolina District and submitted with the
application for the CR School.
��������� The
School is open to anyone interested in roses, to CR candidates and CRs wanting
recertification as CRs.

Qualifications for CR Candidates are:������
1. ARS membership for three years prior to the School
2. Rose growing experience for five years prior to the
School
3. Three letters of recommendation from CRs endorsing
the candidate�s qualifications
4. A willingness to assist and advise others on rose
culture and to share this knowledge with others.
5. Taking and passing the CR open-book test.
The deadline for submitting applications is June
30, 2003, as credentials must be checked with ARS prior to the school.
